LAHORE: Lahore High Court on Friday dismissed a contempt petition against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Petitioner Iqtedar Shah said though he had made several attempts, he had been denied a meeting with the prime minister. He said he visited Islamabad several times to meet him but in vain. He said he moved court in this regard and the court had allowed him to meet the prime minister. He said despite court orders, the prime minister had not granted an appointment. He said every time he tried, security officials would not let him enter the prime minister’s house. After hearing his arguments, the judge remarked that there was nothing the court could do if the prime minister did not meet him. “The courts do not interfere in personal lives of citizens,” the judge said and dismissed the petition.
