The accused had killed a woman and her daughter by throwing acid in 2011 at Kehror Pakka.
MULTAN:
An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday awarded life imprisonment on three counts to three accused for killing a woman and her daughter by throwing acid in 2011 at Kehror Pakka. Both the mother and daughter suffered an agonising death, with the child dying a week after the attack and the woman a month later. According to the court order, the accused would undergo an imprisonment consecutively meaning that each of them would remain in prison for 75 years. Accused Zafar, Ijaz, and Zahoor Ahmad, had thrown acid on Yasmin Bibi and her five-year-old daughter Sanobar on August 2, 2011 after Yasmin, who had filed a case against her husband Wazir for marriage dissolution, rejected marriage proposal of accused Zafar. The minor child Sanober died around a week after the acid attack while her mother breathed her last a month after the incident. Judge ATC-1 Multan Javed Iqbal sentenced accused Zafar, Zahoor and Ijaz, to life imprisonment under section 302 (b), second life imprisonment under section 302(b)/34 of PPC and third life imprisonment under section 7(a) of Anti-Terrorism Act.
