HYDERABAD: Faculty members of Sindh University on Wednesday remembered one of their colleagues who passed away a few days ago in China, where he had gone on a scholarship. At a condolence reference on Wednesday, SU Teachers’ Association (Suta) president Dr Azhar Ali Shah said the late microbiology teacher, Sukhyo Mal, was one of the finest in the entire faculty. “We had high hopes that on his return, he would contribute greatly to the study of microbiology.” Mal was enrolled at Shandong University in Jinan, where he was pursuing a PhD in microbiology on a scholarship from the Chinese government. He died of extreme cold on April 5, while mountaineering at Tai Shan Mountain. The teachers, according to Suta general secretary Dr Arfana Mallah, will contribute a month’s salary as financial help for the late teacher’s family.
