City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has launch an operation against underage drivers and those not holding driving licenses.


According to the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Shoaib Khurram the juvenile drivers not only put their own lives in danger but also the lives of other road users adding that parents should keep an eye on their children to avert accidents.


Special directives have been issued to deputy superintendents of police of all circles, inspectors and wardens working in the field in this regard.


He said the operation is aimed at providing safety to citizens and ensuring implementation of the traffic laws.


The CTO said that 69 drivers who did not have driving licenses on them have been ticketed while action in accordance with the law was also taken against 34 underage drivers.


Some 117 vehicles without number plates were also challaned.
