Technology : Agricultural innovation required

Prof. Dr Asif Ali said that a farmers’ facilitation centre would be set up to guide the farmers round the clock.

KHANEWAL: Member of the Provincial Assembly Syed Hussain Jahanian Gardezi stated that in order to reach the required level of sustainability and security in terms of food availability in rural areas, it is important to increase the use of modern technology. He was addressing the Agricultural Technology Transfer Seminar jointly organised by the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and Farmers Associates of Pakistan (FAP). “If technology is made available to farmers along with required resources there would be revolution in agriculture sector,” said Gardezi. He urged scientists to come up with new technologies as it would effectively inspire the farming community. UAF Office of Research Innovation and Commercialisation’s Director Prof. Dr Asif Ali said that a farmers’ facilitation centre would be set up to guide the farmers round the clock.
