The work on Clifton flyover and underpasses could not resume and the residents of Karachi, civil society and various religious and political parties continued their protests against the serious traffic crisis, a press release of Bahria Town said on Thursday.
The visitors of the shrine of the Abdullah Shah Ghazi also protested against it. They were carrying banners and placards with slogans in favour of early completion of the project, the press release said. They said DHA is hurting the national interest for personal ego.
About 20 feet deep holes have already been dug in the central Clifton area and around the shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi and the residents are suffering from very serious traffic situation because of the suspension of the construction work. Experts said that the dug up areas will pose serious threats to residents in the monsoon season.
Defence and Clifton Association of Real Estate Agents have also condemned the stay order, the press release said.
