US envoy pledges help for Azad Kashmir

The envoy visited the historic fort located in the heart of Muzaffarabad.

At the groundbreaking ceremony for the Education department building on the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) City Campus on Thursday, US Ambassador Richard Olson said the US would continue to support Pakistan and AJK in the education sector. Olson said $400 million would be spent to promote education in Pakistan and AJK.


The envoy visited the historic fort located in the heart of Muzaffarabad. The ambassador said that the scenic area had the potential to attract the tourists. “We are ready to help restore the fort.”

Earlier, Olson met AJK President Sardar Yaqoob Khan. The ambassador said the US would continue to support the rehabilitation and reconstruction of earthquake-hit areas.

Very sad....US is simply rejecting the idea of Kashmir being the integral part of India. ..We must protest to US ...who is again playing a game of supporting pakistan on the issue.
