LAHORE:

A division bench of the Lahore High Court put off hearing a convict’s petition, requesting directions on remissions.

During the proceedings, the bench was informed that there were several identical petitions before other courts. The court ordered the registrar to place all such petitions before a single court.

The petitioner had said he was being discriminated against and should be treated the same as other convicts with regard to remission in his sentence.

He said many convicts had been granted remissions by other courts but the accountability court had not given any concessions.
