Terrorism: Security boosted after Islamabad blast

New measures include deployment of extra contingents, strict vigilance at public places in province.

LAHORE: The Home Department has issued fresh instructions to all regional commissioners, the inspector general of police, regional police officers, city police officers and the capital city police officer, on security in the wake of a bomb blast at the Rawalpindi vegetable market on Wednesday. The new measures include deployment of extra contingents and strict vigilance at public places including bus stands, government offices, parks, shopping malls, and educational and religious institutions in the province. The officers were directed to monitor the security situation in all public places to avoid any terrorist activity.
