Judiciary-executive row: Joint enquiry body formed
On April 1, scuffle between assistant commissioner andcivil judge over construction of car park on court’s premises.
A joint enquiry committee has been formed by the government and the Peshawar High Court chief justice comprising Peshawar District and Sessions Judge Shaibar Khan and the secretary of the local government, elections and rural development department. According to a notification issued by the home department, the committee has been tasked to conduct an enquiry into circumstances that led to the April 1 incident in Balakot, Mansehra which has affected judicial activities since then. The committee will also fix responsibility and make recommendations to avoid such incidents in the future. On April 1, a scuffle erupted between an assistant commissioner and a civil judge over the construction of a car park on the court’s premises.
