MULTAN:

“Seventy thousand candidates appeared on Sunday for a written test given to fill 154 posts of headmistress advertised by the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC),” PPSC Regional Head Muhammad Shabbir said on Sunday.

Muhammad Shabbir told The Express Tribune that 120,000 candidates from across the Punjab were expected to appear for 276 posts of headmistress and headmasters that had been advertised by the Punjab Public Service Commission

“These tests are being conducted at regional centres in the province at Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi,” he said.

“As many as 50,000 candidates will appear for 122 posts of headmaster on April 13,” he said.

He said the posts had been advertised in October 2012 but some candidates had moved a court raising objections in the quotas of the posts.

“The tests are being held now following a Lahore High Court (LHC) ruling that resolved the issue.”

The Punjab Public Service Commission will call 1,380 successful candidates for interviews.
