Stake holders: Teachers protest against government policies

The Punjab Teachers’ Union members blocked the road in front of Farid Gate.

BAHAWALPUR: Hundreds of public school teachers staged a protest demonstration in Bahawalpur on Thursday against the government’s policies. 

The Punjab Teachers’ Union (PTU) members blocked the road in front of Farid Gate, and demanded that their demands be immediately met.

Punjab Teachers’ Union District President Muhammad Sadiq Jhallan said the union was left with no choice but to protest the “victimisation” of teachers.

Bahawalpur Teachers’ Union President Syed Qaiser Shabbir Bukhari, Punjab Teachers’ Union Ahmadpur East President Moeenur Rasheed, Punjab Teachers’ Union Tehsil Yazman President Faiz Ahmad Baloch, Punjab Teachers’ Union Khairpur Tamewali President Sajjad Haider and Punjab Teachers’ Union Hasilpur President Hanif Fayyaz led the protest.
