She began her career as a child artist in late 70’s when she appeared on PTV.
Nazia started her professional career in 1980 at the age of 15, when she sang “Aap Jaisa Koi” for an Indian film titled Qurbani. She received Filmfare award for this song and paved the way for her debut album, Disco Deewane.
Nazia died of lung cancer on August 13, 2000 at the very young age of 35.
Government of Pakistan recognised her contribution towards promotion of pop music and awarded her the Pride of performance two years after her demise in 2002.

There has never been a pop artiste like Nazia in the sub continent. She is evergreen. Even now when you hear her she sounds so fresh and young. What a talented woman.
