Speaking to the media at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore shortly after his arrival early on Thursday, the T20 team captain said their performance was not up to nation’s expectations.
Hafeez said that he believes whenever a team displays poor performance it should be questioned.
In response to a question whether he is ready to face the music before Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi, Hafeez said that an inquiry would be held to determine the factors responsible for Pakistan’s defeat.
The captain said he will present all his reports to PCB chairman in a meeting scheduled for Thursday.
“West Indies played exceptionally well in last five overs of their innings and made over 80 runs, that changed the momentum of the game,” said Hafeez.
Hafeez refused to comment on a question that whether he would play under the captaincy of all-rounder Shahid Afridi, saying he is not aware of any such statement.
On question whether he wished to remain as the T20 captain, Hafeez said it is upto the PCB who they appoint as captain and they are the one who had selected him to lead the side. “If PCB thinks I am performing my duties as captain well then they would retain me otherwise whoever PCB chose as the captain, we all would respect him."

No improvement can happen unless literate players are inducted, who are capable of watching, listening and learning and then implementing.
The team seems to be suffering from "paintee punctures" too it seems.
Do they really expect pakistan to win every tournament they go to and sack the captain if they dont?
Other teams are there to play as well, out of 10 only 1 can win.

If beating India and not winning or trying to win the series is PCB and pakistans only wish then better leave ICC.

If just staying 5th and not trying for no 1 is PCB and pakistans only wish then pakistan is well on track no point in blaming the team as they have fulfilled PCB wish by retaining their 5th spot and the comparison with Big 3 is just unwarranted,useless and silly excuse.
And at the end this man was chosen to clean pak cricket who instead of carrying out his task begins the stroke with blaming Big 2 and others and justifying his teams stance.plz go ahead.
India, n sethi has achieved their goals.. i.e bring s malik and k akmal in major icc tournaments and keep m hafeez as captain. Pak. Will surely be on their way home earlier. These people want Pakistan to be degraded at any cost and bcci has a lot of money. So where all the inquiries should start from?

how convenient. I still wonder why the pay scale of our cricket team is linked to performance. I bet if their pay is linked to their performance atleast the nation will see some fighting spirit reflected in the gameplay of team green.
Najam Sahab said the same team defeated india in Asia cup and Australia in T20 but i think he forgot that neither of those two wins was convincing.We can see the performance of India and Srilanka who have outplayed their opponents in their respective matches. Our only comfortable win was against the weaker side of Bangladesh in T20. Even we won the match against Bangladesh in asia cup via some hard hitting from Shahid Afridi otherwise we would have lost that match also by some 50-60 runs.

This is the problem which we have been observing for the long time. Unlike others Pak Captains never quit themselves based on their poor showing rather wait to see what actions would be taken by the PCB which has never made any decision in the favor of the country. Recently we have seen the decision of Graeme Smith who retires from the cricket following the defeat from Australia. Hafeez, Karmran, Shoaib should be thrown away once and for all.
There are reports in media today that hafeez insisted on the inclusion of kamran akmal and shoaib malik in the team in all matches in t20 wc. Now the question that remains is "who insisted on inclusion of hafeez in the team"???
Sethi saab, stop comparing yourself with others and forget about big 2 or big 3. You really thing out of 8 leading cricket nations 5 is an acceptable position??? My two cent suggestion " Think Big and Grow even Bigger"

Pakistan defeated the two weakest teams in their pool and lost against both the top teams in the pool. This essentially proves we did not deserve to qualify. Let us continue talking about Afridi, Razzak, Malik, Kamran and never look toward the future. Each and every team in the world has appointed youngsters as their captain while we are still looking in the past. Mahela Jayawardene has played same or less number of T20 W. Cup matches as Afridi but he has scored three times more runs. Same goes for other players yet they are never worshiped.
This was the worst defeat of any test playing team in T-20. We were not just defeated but each and every name in the team was destroyed. WI outplayed and outsmarted Pakistan in every department of the game. They are a younger and emerging team while we are a have been. Some are still talking about Malik, Razzak, and likes and not new and young talent. The better team won by a thumping margin while we are only talking and licking our wounds.
About time, he should quit cricket.
