Under section 144: Pillion riding, gatherings banned

Police were directed to carry out strict imposition of ban, take action against those found violating it.

HANGU: The district government on Wednesday imposed Section 144 and banned pillion riding and public gatherings in the entire district for one week. A statement issued from the office of Deputy Commissioner Syed Ahmad Jan stated that due to the recent law and order situation in the district, Section 144 was being imposed for a week. The order will be imposed on pillion riding, display of weapons and public gatherings in the district along with a ban on hate speech. The police were directed to carry out a strict imposition of the ban and take action against those found violating the ban under Section 188 of Pakistan Penal Code.
