The new administration of the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) on Friday pledged to improve the quality of education besides ensuring conducive working environment for its staff.


After assuming charge as AIOU Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Ali Asghar Chishti vowed that the university would not compromise on quality of education. He said that a seven-member committee constituted by the university to review the academic curriculum would come up with viable recommendations to strengthen the examination system, admission procedures and other matters.


AIOU Registrar Dr Nowshad Khan said the university would soon convene a meeting to take up the longstanding promotion issue of employees working in BPS-1 to BPS-16 and above.


He said that the university has also issued job confirmation orders to 14 employees on completion of probation their period besides approving the outstanding cases of move-over of 25 employees working in BPS-1 to BPS-16 employees.
