MoU signed: AJK bank to provide loans to farmers

MUZAFFARABAD:


The Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (BoAJK) on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the AJK agriculture and food department to provide small loans to farmers in rural areas.


The agreement aimed at making the farmers economically strong and self-sufficient.


According to the MoU, the BoAJK will provide interest-free loans to the farmers on a five-year term to promote dairy and poultry farming and animal husbandry in the upper and rural areas of the region.


The loans will be issued under the poverty alleviation scheme being run by the AJK government in the whole region.


BoAJK Managing Director Fazlur Rehman and AJK Secretary Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Idrees Tabasum signed the agrement.
