Murder: Two men awarded life imprisonment

FAISALABAD: Additional District and Sessions Judge Akram Sheikh on Wednesday awarded life imprisonment to two men convicted of murder. According to the prosecution, Abdul Manan, Akram, Talib Hussain and Noor Ahmad had shot dead Ali Raza over a dispute in Faisalabad. Judge Sheikh awarded life imprisonment to Manan and Akram. Hussain and Ahmad were acquitted. The court also fined the convicts Rs100,000 each. Separately, Additional District and Sessions Judge Zubair Shehzad Kiyani on Wednesday awarded one year imprisonment to a man convicted of drug peddling in Faisalabad. According to the prosecution, Saddar police arrested Abid and seized more than 1kg of hashish from him. Judge Kiyani also fined the convict Rs4,000.
