Turmoil In Balochistan: Three power pylons blown up in Kohlu
The explosion resulted in suspension of power supply to the entire Mawand Tehsil.
QUETTA:
A group of Baloch insurgents – United Baloch Army – blew up three power pylons of high transmission lines in the Mawand area of Kohlu district on Tuesday. The explosion resulted in suspension of power supply to the entire Mawand Tehsil, with a population of more than 3,000 people. According to Mohammed Baksh – a Levies official at Kohlu Levies Thana – militants attached explosive materials to power pylons of 132 KV transmission lines and detonated it through remote control. “As a result of the blast, three power pylons were destroyed completely,” he said.Balochistan Levies personnel and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), however, reached the site soon after the explosion, threw a cordon round the area and managed to defuse the explosive materials attached to the fourth power pylon, the official added.
