Member at House of Lords of the United Kingdom, Dr Shaukat Nawaz Khan, called on Karachi administrator, Rauf Akhtar Farooqui, at his office.
Khan was accompanied by Professor Dr Ahmed Ali Khan of International Heath Foundation and Professor Fateh Muhammad Burfat, the director of sociology department at University of Karachi. Khan is the former lord lieutenant of Nottingham, the prestigious elected royal office of England.
He was made a life peer of the House of Lords for the services rendered in the field of social sciences. During the meeting, Lord Khan briefed the administrator about the efforts the British representatives undertake to foster communal harmony in England as well as furthering an understanding of Islamic culture. He said that he and his friends are engaged in addressing social and medical issues both in England and Pakistan.
