GUJRANWALA:

In the first round of the Punjab City Governance Improvement Project initiated in Gujranwala, Rs178 million has been approved for development projects in the city.

District Planning Officer Tariq Ali Dhilloon confirmed on Monday that the grant had been sanctioned for the construction of 17 roads in the city including the road from Munir Chowk to the CPO’s Office, Sialkot Road to Gondalanwala Adda, the road connecting the Commissioner’s Office to the Civil Lines Road and Gul Road. Government officials said the roads identified for repairs had been in varying stages of decay because they lacked resources for drainage and water would accumulate there during rainy weather. Work on these projects will start from next month.
