KARACHI: Members of All Pakistan Organisation of Small Traders and Cottage Industries protested on Wednesday against the government for failing to arrest those behind the Shershah killings.

They shouted slogans against the government and demanded it pay Rs 2.5 million in compensation to the families of those people who were killed while all those persons who were injured should get Rs1 million each. Organisation leaders warned that if the government fails to arrest the perpetrators, the traders will hold shutter-down strikes across Sindh.

Despite a ban on pillion riding, on October 19, six armed motorcyclists entered the Shershah scrap market and opened indiscriminate fire, in which at least 12 people were killed on the spot and 14 others were injured.
