Spring celebrations: Arrangements for Pakistan Day festivities complete

The district administration and the Parks and Horticulture Authority have finalised arrangements for March 23 celebrations.


A fireworks display will also be held at Racecourse Park at midnight.

Students of various universities and colleges, officials of the city government Rescue 1122, Lahore Waste Management Company and PHA will participate in a float parade organised by the city district government, the provincial government and the PHA

The parade will start from Main Boulevard at Gulberg at 3pm. Hamza Shehbaz Sharif will be the chief guest.

The parades include culture and history of Pakistan, culture of Lahore, peace and development, and brotherhood.

As many as 25 buggies would move with the parades.

Several parades will travel along Jail road, the canal, The Mall and Chamber of Commerce Road and meet at Racecourse Park where a musical concert will follow.

A meeting in connection with Pakistan Day and Jashan-i-Baharan was held at Town Hall. It was chaired by DCO Ahmed Javed Qazi.

He said the city district government and the Parks and Horticultural Authority would set pigeons free and let colourful balloons in the air.

He said the events were open to children.
