Promotion of sports: Cash prize for hockey association
PIA defeated Water and Power Development Authority B 4-2 in the final.

Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) secretary general Rana Mujahid Ali has announced a Rs100,000 prize for the Sargodha District Hockey Association. He was speaking at a prize distribution ceremony held after the final match of the inaugural Brig (r) Manzoor Hussain Atif Memorial Hockey Tournament at the Sargodha Hockey Stadium on Wednesday. Ali, the chief guest, gave away the winning trophy to Pakistan International Airline’s captain Aamir Shahzad. PIA defeated Water and Power Development Authority B (Wapda) 4-2 in the final. Ali appreciated Fiaz Ahmed Hinjra, the tournament’s organising secretary for his dedication and hard work. He also praised the tournament director, Shafqat Malik, a former olympian, for uninterrupted matches. District Coordination Officer Tariq Mahmood, MNA Chaudhry Abdul Hamid, the Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs’ parliamentary secretary and MPA Nadia Aziz also gave away prizes to players and tournament organisers on the occasion.
