KARACHI: Commissioner Shoaib Siddiqui has ordered all surveillance cameras installed by private security agencies at different banks and other financial institutions to be immediately linked to the central control rooms of the Karachi police and the commissioner’s office. This was in response to a report presented to him by Sindh IGP’s representative SSP Shiraz Nazir. The report stated that 121 bank heists were registered in the metropolis during the past two years and 69 of these cases were solved through the arrest of culprits and the recovery of looted money. The report presented during a meeting of relevant stakeholders also showed that culprits are generally found to be in their early 30s or below and were trained to commit the crime within minutes.
