KARACHI:

A district and sessions court sentenced on Tuesday a man to seven years in prison in an illegal weapons case.

Faiz Muhammad Bhatti, an additional district and sessions judge in district Central, found Muhammad Kashif guilty of possessing an unlicenced weapon and pronounced the judgment after hearing both sides.

In its verdict, the court observed that the prosecution had implicated the accused through witnesses, adding that the prosecution had successfully proved its case by placing sufficient evidence before the court. In addition, the forensic science lab’s report confirmed that the weapon seized from the accused was properly functioning.

According to the prosecution, the police had arrested Kashif and seized a weapon from him, adding that he was detained after he couldn’t produce a licence for the weapon.
