LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday directed the Camp Jail superintendent to appear in person with a reply in a petition seeking action against him for not complying with court orders.

Chaudhary Mufeez Ahmed told the court that his father Muhammad Saeed was being held at Camp Jail even though the court had ordered the superintendent to release him. He said a case had been registered against his father following a quarrel with a Lower Mall policeman on April 11,1989.

He said his father had been declared a court absconder. He said recently the police arrested him and produced him a before judicial magistrate who sent him to jail on December 6, 2013.

He said the petitioner was granted bail on March 10, 2014 by a judicial magistrate.

He said the SP had not released his father despite court orders.

The court directed the SP to explain why he did not obey court orders.
