All aboard: Pakistan Army sets up 12 camps in Thar

Meteorological dept says no significant rainfall was recorded in drought-prone areas of South Punjab, Eastern Sindh.

According to a daily emergency and response situational information report by iMMAP Pakistan, relief and medical support to the affected areas of Tharparkar are underway, and 12 medical camps have been established by Pakistan Army.


The report, released on Tuesday, indicated that all institutions, including the National Disaster Management Authority, Provincial Disaster Management Authority, the provincial government, United Nations agencies and NGOs, are distributing food items in the affected areas every day.

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather systems during winter season, which lasts from January to March, were mainly confined to the north western and upper half of the country and no significant rainfall was recorded in drought-prone areas of South Punjab and Eastern Sindh.
