LAHORE:

The University of Lahore won the scaled bridge competition at the Gymnasium Hall of the Punjab Sports Board on Tuesday. Director General Usman Anwar was the chief guest at the event.

Around 400 students from several universities across the country participated in the competition organised in connection with the Punjab Youth Festival. The competition aimed to highlight the talents of aspiring architects. A jury of experts examined the students’ models and helped them improve their designs.  The participants had designed a variety of models of famous bridges including the London Tower (England), Sydney Harbour (Australia), Charles Bridge (Czech Republic) and Golden Gate Bridge (America). The students had been tasked with preparing modern, durable and attractive bridges and delighted the audience with some incredible models. Judges Shadab Riaz, Amir Raza and Farrukh Butt evaluated the designs for materials, quality and durability. Anwar appreciated the students’ efforts and said the country needed their talents and skills.
