Managing natural resources: MAB Programme website launched

Pakistan Museum of Natural History Friday launched Man and Biosphere Programme (MAB) website, in an effort to provide information for the solution of natural resources and environmental issues. The programme is an inter-disciplinary effort of the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), directed towards providing an opportunity for international cooperation. “It has a focus for the coordination of related programme aimed at improving the management of natural resources and the environment”, museum director Muhammad Rafique told APP.He said the museum has been declared MAB secretariat, adding the website will be hosted by the museum and Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF). Biosphere Reserves are areas designated under the programme to test different approaches for integrated management of terrestrial, freshwater, coastal and marine resources and biodiversity.
