Violators booked: People flout ban on kite-flying

Meanwhile, police claimS to have confiscated 10,403 kites from violators during raids in different parts of the city.

People including children flouted the ban on flying kites in Rawalpindi to celebrate Basant on Friday.


Meanwhile, the police claimed to have confiscated 10,403 kites from violators during raids in different parts of the city.

According to a police spokesman, the raids were conducted on the directive of the regional police officer.

The Rata Amral police arrested Iqbal and seized 5,000 kites from his possession.

In another raid, the Waris Khan police arrested Shah Imran and confiscated 5,000 kites from his possession. The Civil Lines police arrested Ahmed Raza, Hamza, Usama, Usman, Ali and Rashid and confiscated 21 kites from them.

The Airport police arrested Khalid and seized 150 kites and 10 strings from his possession.

The Morgah police nabbed Hamaad and confiscated 30 kites from his possession. The spokesman said that the police have registered separate cases against the violators.
