Violence: Seminary student killed

A religious seminary student was shot dead at UP Morr in North Karachi by unidentified armed pillion-riders.

KARACHI: A religious seminary student was shot dead at UP Morr in North Karachi on Friday by unidentified armed pillion-riders. The deceased was identified as Mehmoodul Hasan, 23, and he was severely injured. He died on his way to the hospital. According to North Karachi police station SHO, Hasan was a student of a religious seminary located at Disco Morr in North Karachi. He hailed from Lasbela in Balochistan. The police found empty shells of a 9mm pistol from the crime scene. The body of the deceased was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Meanwhile, some men shot dead a young man in Yousuf Goth area of Saeedabad on Friday. According to SHO Saeedabad Ayazuddin, the men brought the young man in a car, shot him to death, and fled. The police reached the spot and found the man dead. His hands and legs were tied, however, the police could not find anything from the body and the crime scene which could help in the identification of the deceased. The police said that the man was already in custody of the kidnappers. The body was taken to Civil hospital and was later shifted to Edhi morgue.
