ISLAMABAD:

The Senate Secretariat has decided to streamline working of the house standing committees from the advent of the 12th parliamentary year, according to the annual performance report of the Senate.

The report chronicles the events of the 11th parliamentary year-- which ended earlier this week. Under the new system, the committee meetings during the 12th parliamentary year will be numbered on the pattern of a Senate session and all the minutes and reports of the committees will be properly documented and archived in hard copies, as well as in soft and e-documentation.

According to the annual report, under the new Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business, reports of two committees containing bills or legislative proposals have been adopted by the House. These were the bills by the human rights committee on missing persons and information and broadcasting committee on the right to information.
