Tharparkar students: AIOU announces 50% fee concession

The meeting was briefed about the drought situation in Mithi and Umerkot.

The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has announced to provide 50 per cent fee concession to the students of drought-hit parts of Tharparkar.


The fee concession will be available up to master-level programmes for the current semester (spring 2014), said a press release. Those who have already deposited full fee will be able adjusted 50% fee concession in the next semester.


While chairing a meeting of a special task group on the drought-situation on Wednesday, AIOU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Nazir Ahmed Sangi said that the university staff will consider giving their one day salary to the effected people to help them in their hour of trial.


The meeting was briefed about the drought situation in Mithi and Umerkot by the AIOU officials through video-conferencing.


The meeting was also attended by Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof Dr Rashid A Naeem, President Officer Welfare Association Muhammad Qasim Haider and others.
