Reshuffle: Cops play musical chairs

The capital police on Tuesday witnessed a major reshuffle.

The capital police on Tuesday witnessed a major reshuffle as six SPs and 13 DSPs were posted, a police source said. Farhat Abbas Kazmi has been appointed as Special Branch SP, Liaqat Hayat Niazi as Industrial Area SP, Habibullah Khan Niazi as SP of SSG, Zubair Ahmed Shaikh as SP of CID and Ahmed Iqbal as ATS SP.


Jamil Ahmed Hashmi serving as SP Saddar has been transferred to the Investigation Wing, while Rural SP Muhammad Ilyas has been posted as SP Saddar. ASP Muhammad Hasan Iqbal has been appointed as SDPO Shehzad Town Circle, ASP Rana Tahir Rehman as PSO to IGP.

DSP Khalid Masood Akram has been posted to CIA, DSP Muhammad Jahangir has been deputed at the Prime Minister’s House, DSP Muhammad Auqab has been appointed as Industrial area SDPO, DSP Zawar Hussain will now serve at the Security Division (Supreme Court), DSP Sardar Khan at Special Branch, DSP Muhammad Iqbal Shahid at Traffic Division, DSP Muhammad Iqbal at VVIP Route and DSP Muhammad Ilyas Hashmi at the traffic division.

DSP Shafqat Ali Khan serving at the PM House Security Office has been appointed as  DSP SSG, DSP Abdul Razzaq has been transferred to MT Headquarters, DSP Arif Hussain  Shah to CID and DSP Fida Satti to the Investigation Wing.
