Earlier this week, 67 Kashmiri students were suspended from Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU) in Meerut over a similar row.
The Kashmiri students at the Sharda University hostel allegedly cheered for Pakistan, which led to tension with another group of students.
The situation got worse when a student commented on a social media network that an action similar to Swami Vivekanand Subharti University in Meerut should be taken by Sharda University. Students started agitating on campus and the authorities had to call the police.
“The students got into fights. Nobody was injured but we have expelled six students for the time being,” said Ranvir Singh, students' welfare dean at the Sharda University.
According to Hindustan Times, four of the expelled students are from Kashmir, while one is from Uttarakhand and another one from Uttar Pradesh.

@Syed Jalal Kashmiri: The students are well within their right to support Pakistan or any other country however its highly hypocritical to do so while attending a University where students from J&K get special quotas and many probably would not have made it without the quota system. If you dont consider yourself Indian then stop attending Indian universities through special quoatas. That spot will be better utilized by someone who actually wants to be Indian and contribute to Indian society. Irrespective, it was a stupid decision to expel them for being supposedly antinational if they havent broken any law. The college was better served in sending the students (from either group involved in the tension) on leave for a few days to calm down the environment and deal with the situation in a civil manner.
That being said only those Kashmiris who are going to buy into the idea of India be it Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist etc should really be utilizing any provisions provided by the Indian govt.. If you dont believe in the system then dont take the hand outs your getting. Fight the system fully if you feel no loyalty to the nation, injustice and unfairly treated.
No state in India has recieved so much support in terms of cash, subsidies, special quotas in schools, colleges, govt and state jobs etc. like J&K yet a few Kashmiris want to play the victim card. Most of the social, income and growth indices in Kashmir are inline with other Indian states thereby showing that Kashmir is no better nor worse off than most of the states in India and shouldnt really be given any special concessions. Many would actually argue that Article 370 has actually impeded investment in J&K as it has limited investment from other states of India. Im not going to paint all Kashmiris with one brush cause there are many who have been able to take advantage of the growth that has been seen in India over the past few years but its so easy to blame everybody else for your problems.
People who achieve in life never sat and blamed the system. I as an Indian agree the situation in Kashmir isnt ideal however in this world it seldom is. Inspite of the so called oppressive Indian regime in Kashmir the number of deaths in the last 25 years is considerably less than what has happened in only Karachi in secretarian violence in the last 10 years. The soldiers in Kashmir are there to prevent any other endevours from the Pakistani side and to prevent the entry of Pakistans leading export product. Do Pakistanis have such a short memory. In 1999 Pakistan attacked India in the Kargil sector at the sametime as the two Prime Ministers were shaking hands.
Thanks but no thanks. India will keep those extra soldiers in Kashmir. By the way Kashmir had 1 million tourists last year. Lets have this discussion again about the plight of Kashmiris and Indian unjustice when indices in Pakistan are better than in J&K. Egotistical chest thumping does not change the facts on the ground.
E.T. my post is completely factual so you have no reason to moderate this. Hope it goes through.
World Largest Democracy+Secular India= 2 Afridi Sixes
As a Kashmiri, I strongly support the final settlement of the Kashmir issue for the future well-being of my people. Good gesture by Pakistan to allow Kashmiri students to study in top universities in Pakistan. If you Indians have any doubts about us, put it to rest now. We Kashmiris always support Pakistan and Muslims, and never considered ourselves Indian.
Thanks Jinnah sb. U gave us a country, Pakistan
@Bakhtiyar Ghazi Khan: I wonder, if you are really clueless, or just trying to act as one. :)
So according to you, Oh Enlightened One, Indian Hindus are denying Non-Bengali Muslims rights in "Bengladesh" and forcing "Bengladesh" to kill its Islamic scholars... whatever that means !
And...
India and Bangladesh are sub-human, barbaric, primitive countries; while Pakistan is a model, highly advanced modern country ?
Please, Oh, The Keeper of World's Knowledge, shine some more light on my ignorant brain.
@Bakhtiyar Ghazi Khan: Bangladesh has a duty to ensure safety and security to all of its citizens
Bangladesh does a great job ensuring safety of its citizens. It has not lost over 55,000 people to self-imposed terrorism. And the people I am talking about, the Pakistani Biharis are not Bangladeshis. Have some shame and get your facts right. Pakistan has a duty to ensure safety and security to its Hazara, Baloch, Quadiani, Ahmedi, Balti, Hindu, Christian and Shia citizens.@3DChasma: You will never hear such an idolatrous statement from any Baloch. We are staunch religious Muslims and proud Pakistanis.
@rasgullah: I am Baloch, and I support my country. Baloch are a Muslim group related to Pukhtoons, Sindhis, Punjabi people, and why would we want to join with foreigners when we are happy with our blood brothers here?
Kashmiris are a Muslim population invaded and occupied by the Indian army, without any rights. We Baloch support the right of Kashmiri Muslims to join Pakistan and live alongside us and all other Muslims here.
Indians, please don't mention my Baloch people here. We are more than capable to speak for ourselves. We were also celebrating Pakistan's victory, along with our Kashmiri brothers. That should tell you where we stand.
@rasgullah:
Read Indo-Pak history plz.Kashmir is disputed issue between two states, and several UN's resloution are keeping in archives to know the actual issue of Kasmir..
@Bakhtiyar Ghazi Khan:
Good response. We respect human beings. Some nations have no sense to live in modern era, they do not have moral values, norms and ethics even. They consider themselves the BEST.Hypocrat they are.

It all happening in Uttar pradesh at present this province virtually under Indian MQM rule so this all happening. I think Shri. Maulana mulayam singhji take control of this situation
@Shakil: Vacating PoK is the only answer. Besides, remember that Pakistan was created for Muslims. The expelled students belong in Pakistan. Take them. Problem solved.
awesome........ send them to pakistan....... pakistan's university are among the best in world in bomb making....they will learn some engineering there....LOL
@Shakil: Let Pakistan free Balochistan and India will free kashmir.
I salute these brave students who dare to express their Internationally recognized right of Freedom of Speech as enshrined by the UN Charter on Human Rights. Indians should not have any doubt about the loyalties of Kashmiris now. Love for Pakistan is in their blood and DNA. Pakistanis' love for our Kashmiri brothers is not any less.
@Jat: Bangladesh has a duty to ensure safety and security to all of its citizens, including those who are not ethnic Bengalis and those who are religious Muslim Bengalis. If Bangladesh were to expel all pro-Pakistani people, they would lose half of their population. If India is so worried about Bihari and Assamese Muslims, they should help them as Hindu mobs from those areas forced these Muslims to migrate to Bengal to begin with.
The fact is racism and ethnic extremist will always lead to fascism and ethnic cleansing. India and Bangladesh are proofs of this fact. It is appalling at the amount of injustice meted on Kashmiris in India. This story only proves what we already knew.
@pakistani: if they love you so much they have a choice, which is very easy, they can leave India and start a good life in your country, but not spoil the atmosphere in the university. They are getting everything very easy. The other Indian muslims have to struggle like us to get to good positions but these people are getting everything on a platter in view of their special status. I am sure their parents wont be happy with what the kids are doing at college! But things might change when Modi comes to power. Although our family has been a strong supporter of the secular congress party, now I really wonder whether we should continue to support the party and so do many Indians! This is a wake-up call!
3Dchasma @
I am from baluchistan. And forget Lahore. I am at Peshawar uni. I'd rather kill myself than celebrate india's victory. And so is everyone at baluchistan. We may have our differences but that doesn't mean we would support India. So wake up and prove to the world that u are a democratic state by treating those kashmiris boys humanly. ET I hope u publish
Why not Indians free Kashmir so they dont have to repeat these lunatic acts! When you occupy Kashmir by force with 700K army, they will not love your for that thats for sure!
@3D chashma!......for us the balochis are just like pathans/sindhis/punjabis(in other words our brothers.......,)llllllooollll.........i can understand why have you posted that comment to create hatred between pakistanis.......but just to let you know that.....your dirty trick is not working
@romm: Whats sick about it?? The university made a good decision of sending those students back to where they belong. Indeed it could be done in India only. Had it been Pakistan, they would had been lynched by mobs.
Thank God that no one was killed. If this was to happen to ou westernly neighbour country, all six would be dead.
Every time I read about this Indian scandal in a newspaper I wonder for a second that what would have been our response to a bunch of Baloch students in Panjab University celebrating India's win over Pakistan in cricket and chanting "G A Maha Bharat"? I assume we would have gone even further than merely expelling them from university.
Well before being utterly patriotic my brothers, this happens in Pakistan too! Not long ago some medical students were expelled from punjab medical college faisalabad as they were ahmedis (who are pakistanis ). While love for Kashmiris is good, biharis in karachi live in slums who supported pakistan in bangladesh war. Just think if ahmedis or balochis do what kashmiris did how would we react. see what happened in 1971? Lets be honest about it!
Indian are different than us. We love our traitors, killers and kidnappers. They don't.
@ mood So this justifies Indian's stupidity?????
@Nikki: By the way, when are you going to welcome the million strong Pakistani Biharis stuck in that RAW-infested place called Bangladesh ? Is 40 years not enough time to make preparations to get them over and settle them in Pakistan ?
One would have thought you would welcome your fellow citizens and fellow Muslims with open arms !
@Nikki: Please take all such Pakistan lovers. We promise we will buy their property at market value and give them a safe and comfortable passage across the border.
@Blunt: We don't like traitors and terrorists. :) They got off easy !
Welcome to Pakistan
Lies is being fed to us Pakistanis.......the moral of stories is student do fight...in fact we our self had seen fight in NED between two groups....that doesn't mean such small things are given so much fire......moreover ..Indian media is reporting and they will take care of situation...we have enough things on our hand..at present...so let us concentrate on that......et..please publish......
Good job by university.we create future citizen of india in university , not stone pelters or anti nationals. University did a good job by informing the kashmiri parents ,so that they can know what their children are doing here.
You can expell them but can't take the Pakistan love from their heart.
