Palijo may be Lyari's unlikely peacebroker

Groups following Uzair Baloch and Baba Ladla have expressed confidence in Palijo to resolve differences.

HYDERABAD: Qaumi Awami Tehreek (QAT) chief Ayaz Latif Palijo has emerged as the unlikely pacifier for the ongoing turf battle between groups in Lyari, after the two main gangs following Uzair Baloch and Noor Mohammad aka Baba Ladla respectively expressed confidence in Palijo.

According to a spokesperson of QAT, Noor Ahmed Katryar and Lyari’s MPA Sania Naz approached Palijo on Thursday to come forward and resolve the issue between the two gang leaders.

Naz said that Uzair and Ladla respected Palijo. Should he accept the task, Palijo could play an important role in resolving the differences between the two gangs and bring some semblance of peace to Lyari.

Katyar also confirmed that Mama Umeed Ali and Nisar Baloch from Ladla group had also approached Palijo on Friday in this regards.

Palijo is expected to hold meetings within next two days with representatives of both the groups and try to resolve their differences through talks.
