KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon has asked the courts to not grant stay order to those involved in encroachment cases, as the government is trying hard to clean the city of illegal constructions —particularly the wedding halls that have been constructed on land allocated for playgrounds, parks and welfare facilities. He reiterated the government’s resolve to demolish all the wedding halls being constructed on illegal lands. He said that a seven-day deadline was given against the encroachments constructed inside parks, and now the operation has started against them. Memon was talking to the media after paying a surprise visit at the illegally constructed wedding halls in hockey stadium and welfare plots in a North Nazimabad locality.
