Reckless driving : Four killed, 16 injured in road mishaps

A Gambat police official said a passenger van was en route to Rawalpindi from Kohat.

KOHAT: Four passengers were killed while 16 were injured in two separate road accidents in the district on Friday.

A Gambat police official said a passenger van was en route to Rawalpindi from Kohat. When it reached Malang Baba Hotel, Ghambat on the Indus Highway at 8:55am, it collided with a truck.

As a result, four people were killed on the spot, including two women and the driver Muhammad Zaman, while 10 others were injured. The official added police and rescue workers reached the spot and shifted the injured to Kohat Divisional Hospital while four who were critically injured were taken to Peshawar.

Six passengers were injured in the second road accident which occurred at Kohat Cantonment at 9.15am, said the police official. He added the car was on its way to Hangu from Kohat when it crashed into another car near Muhammadzai and injured six people.
