PESHAWAR:

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday sent an alleged bomb-maker to Peshawar Central Jail on a 14-day judicial remand as his two days in police custody expired.

Adil Khan was produced before the court of judge Syed Asghar Ali Shah by the police who wanted to get his physical remand extended but the request of Gulbahar police was turned down.

An investigation officer told the court the two-day physical custody remand of the accused had led to certain facts being disclosed which could lead authorities to the mastermind.

He further asked the court that the accused’s physical remand be extended for ten days so they could complete their investigation. However, the court sent the suspect on a judicial remand and turned down the police’s request.

Khan was arrested from Nishtarabad with three different types of explosives, 18 detonators, four packets of ball bearings, two remote controls and two passports.
