Energy Crisis: WAPDA workers oppose privatisation

Leaders of WAPDA labour union said WAPDA was a profitable organisation.

SARGODHA: Dozens of WAPDA employees on Thursday protested against its proposed privatisation.

Leaders of WAPDA labour union Ilyas Munna, Sajid Jutt and Muhammad Rafi Dogar said WAPDA was a profitable organisation.

They said energy crisis had been caused by faulty policies of successive governments. They said households of million of people was dependent on WAPDA.

They said privatisation would ruin a profitable institution and leave millions of people jobless.

The protestors said that they will expand the scope of the protest if the plan for privatisation was not abolished.
