Rigging at na-202: Election tribunal orders re-poll

Aftab Shaban Mirani of PPP states that Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Jatoi of PMLN was involved in large-scale rigging in polls.

SUKKUR: The election tribunal in Sukkur ordered re-polls at 21 polling stations of NA-202 Shikarpur on the charges of large-scale rigging.

Aftab Shaban Mirani of Pakistan Peoples Party had filed a petition in the election tribunal stating that his rival candidate Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Jatoi of Pakistan Muslim League -N was involved in large-scale rigging at 21 polling stations of NA-202, due to which Mirani lost the election and therefore requested the tribunal to order re-poll.

The election tribunal ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan to arrange re-poll at 21 polling stations of NA-202, said Advocate Shabbir Shar, who represented Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Jatoi. He said that his client will challenge this decision in the Supreme Court today (Thursday).
