The Capital Development Authority (CDA) board on Wednesday approved a revised layout plan for Sector I-15 which also earmarks over three acres for the construction of flats for low-cadre employees. The decisions were made on Wednesday during a CDA board meeting chaired by the civic agency’s chairman Maroof Afzal.
The revised layout plan provides for allotment of plots to the original applicants instead of flats.
The CDA launched the sector in 2005 with a promise of 8,000 flats to the applicants, but the plan failed to materialise and the authority reimbursed everyone who had paid for the flats.
In its last board meeting, the CDA had decided to allot plots to those who did not accept the refunds.
The board also approved the auction of 32 commercial plots in first week of April. The board also approved a 20 per cent special allowance for the CDA’s audit and accounts staff.
