Shot dead: Police constable gunned down

The official speculates the attack might be sectarian.

PESHAWAR: A police constable identified as Ibne Hassan was shot dead by unidentified motorcyclists in Tauheed Colony within the jurisdiction of Yakatoot police station on Wednesday.

The police said Hassan was in plain clothes and was deployed at Police Lines when he was shot near Superior Science Degree College.

The attackers managed to escape from the scene of crime before the police got there. An official from the police station confirmed Hassan was a constable and worked in the police telecommunication department.

The official speculated the attack might be sectarian.
