KARACHI: The four-day polio campaign that was due to start on Tuesday (today) was postponed  in Maripur and Mawach Goth, Karachi, Express News reported.

The campaign targeting 115 union councils was delayed in some areas of the city as appropriate security measures were not taken.

The campaign had been postponed earlier as well after the attack on polio workers in Qayyumabad on January 20.

Polio teams have previously become target of various attacks in the country. Militant groups see vaccination campaigns as a cover for espionage, while there are also long-running rumours about polio drops causing infertility.
