Suo motu action: CJP summons top officials, seeks report

Taking suo motu notice of the district courts attack, Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jillani summoned the interior secretary, chief commissioner and inspector general of police (IGP) Islamabad today (Tuesday) in court. He also asked them to submit a detailed report on the gun-and-suicide attack.


CJ Jillani has also directed IGP to “submit a list of police officials posted at the district courts/kutchery, Islamabad, for security duties, stating whether all such personnel were present on duty at the time of the incident.” Likewise, the chief justice has also sought reports from all the chief secretaries within three days.

Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi formed a two-member inquiry committee that would start its work immediately. The committee will submit its report along with its recommendations before the IHC chief justice.
