ISLAMABAD:

It was difficult for many to accept that the people they had met on Monday morning were no more in this world.

Colleagues, relatives and friends of the people killed in the suicide attacks queued outside the mortuary of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) to receive the bodies of loved ones.

“I met Mian Aslam early in the morning and he told me he was going to the court,” said Malik Tauqeer, an employee of Allama Iqbal Open University. Tauqeer said after an hour he heard that he was no more. Aslam, 46, was regional director at AIOU and leaves behind a son and a daughter.

Advocate Mohsin Kiyani said his clerk Umer Akbar, 24, was also killed in the incident. He was working with me for the last one and a half year.”

Meanwhile, three people sustained burn injuries and are admitted at Pims Burns Centre. They worked at a restaurant in the kucthery.

According to the sources, the names of the injured are Zaheer Ahmed, Naveed, and Amir Ali.

Upon hearing gun shots, they ducked behind cauldrons which apparently overturned due to the blasts causing severe burns to the three cooks. They were reported to be stable.
