The prime minister made this comment when Chinese Defense Minister General Chang Wanquan called upon him in Islamabad today.
Nawaz said China and Pakistan enjoy a unique relationship and he appreciated Chinese support for national projects including the Pakistan-China Economic corridor. He stressed that the corridor would help connect the south and central Asian countries and transform the economy of the region.
The premier also assured the defence minister that the security of Chinese nationals was of great importance to the government.
Nawaz said the time-tested friendship between Pakistan and China existed because of the strong bilateral trust‚ excellent cooperation and convergence of views on regional and global issues.

President Mamnoon Hussain conferred Hilal-e-Pakistan award on the Chinese Defence Minister Chang Wanquan at a special investiture ceremony in recognition of his role for further promoting friendlky bilateral relations especially defence cooperation between Pakistan and China.

China wants to position itself to replace USA as primary arms supplier - however China is a "cash and carry" country so your not going to get any of those American freebies and their technology is generally considered inferior. In the long run you probably don't have any other alternative because the writings on the wall and the days of American money and weapons are coming to an end.

But China is not a US imperialist and China helps Pakistan with JVs in defense sector so, in essence China does not want Pakistan to rely solely on her. That is true friendship indeed.
Apart from that, Defense Minister level visit is quite a high level visit in itself.

True, Pakistan has made serious mistake for depending on America only.But dont depend on China too, have appropiate state power to meet securiy dilemmas in the country,
