ISLAMABAD: The CDA demolished some 22 illegally-constructed houses along the planned main road in Sector D-12/2 on Monday. Sources said the demolished houses belonged to Ashraf Khan, who has been occupying CDA land for the past 22 years. The sector was announced back in 1988, and work here has been inaugurated by three different prime ministers during the past two decades, but due to encroachment issues, the sector has yet to be properly developed. A CDA spokesperson said the occupants were not only illegally occupying the land but also resisting developmental activities. “Now, the authority will reinitiate the process within the upcoming week,” he said.
