KARACHI: Police in Karachi arrested four persons who were claiming they were Taliban and demanding extortion money from a trader.

SP Clifton Mohommad Nadeem said a motorcycle showroom owner Qari Akram informed the police that some people had dropped five bullets and a letter containing demand for Rs1.5 million.

The letter claimed it was from the Taliban.

On receiving information police sleuths traced the culprits and arrested Sajid, Pervaiz, Aijaz and Miraj.

Three pistols and fourteen bullets were recovered from the suspects, SP Nadeem said, adding a case has been registered and investigation is in progress.
